For me, God is like a carrot on a string...or maybe I should say a Snicker's Bar on a string...it's tempting, i want it...but, when I grab it and pull........
.....the string on the Snicker's bar opens up a giant door to a huge closet full of JW stuff and it all falls on top of me like an avalanche.

ie: If there is a God...what is His name? Does He really care what us humans are doing? Does He have an earthly organization? Is Jesus God? Is there a Hell? Is it ok to have oral sex? Will smurfs get me? Will someone see me buying Lucky Charms at the grocery? etc. etc. etc...

Guy loses crutch

Spitting it out!

It's difficult for me to admit this now but...
My husband's cousin (a MS) who was the best man at our wedding was disfellowsipped a week later for homosexuality. The last time I spoke to him was at our reception...as we danced, he whispered "goodbye" and that he "loved me and wished it was him that was marrying me." I didn't understand at the time, until I heard the announcement at the hall.
Although his cousin was his best and really his only friend,(because we were JWs) my husband and I did not see him or speak to him for 17 years. It wasn't because of our disapproval of his lifestyle it was out of fear of being disapproved by the JWs if we sought him out.
After a period of not attending the Kingdom Hall...we got a call one day...outta the blue. It was him. I guess he had heard from a non-JW relative that we had stopped attending. He was down on vacation from Florida with his "life partner" and wondered if he could see us. Needless to say, both my husband and I were so excited! We spent the day with them and caught up on the 17 years we had been apart. He hadn't changed...he was the same funny, lovable guy we had known and loved...except for the fact that he was free. Free to be himself.
Brit...I hope somewhere down the line your sister has a change of heart and embraces you again. Til then...Hate the intolerance....Love the person.

if they say that the larynx would be located in the same place as a modern human.. say`you are saying that neanderthal man was a monster with his larynx located in his chest'.. .

Attending a congregation on the Mexican border, we were accustomed to "Snow Birds" joining us during the winter months. The clash between cultures sometimes was quite humorous. One such couple, the Pimbles, who joined us from Canada were attending our weekly Sunday Watchtower Study. The Watchtower conductor...of Mexican decent, was notorious for getting the "Anglo" names wrong.
The sister, sitting in the last row procedes to raise her hand to make a much welcomed comment. The Brother, pointing excitingly from the platform acknowledges her: "Sister Pimple in the Rear!"

Most hated Bible stories....
by PopeOfEruke inyears ago, i had a pet-hate bible story, and it was this one story that actually started me on the path to freedom from the borg-org.. it was the story of lot when he was living in sodom and the 2 angels visited (dressed like men of course).
and the crowd of sodomites were yelling "send out the visitors so we can bonk them senseless".

This is one of my all time hated Bible Stories-2 Kings 2:23-25
23 And he proceeded to go up from there to Beth'el. As he was going up on the way, there were small boys that came out from the city and began to jeer him and that kept saying to him: "Go up, you baldhead! Go up, you baldhead!" 24 Finally he turned behind him and saw them and called down evil upon them in the name of Jehovah. Then two she-bears came out from the woods and went tearing to pieces forty-two children of their number. 25 And he kept going from there to Mount Car'mel, and from there he returned to Sa·mar'i·a.
I mean...this guys walking to Bethel or something...and he's bald. Ok...we're fine for now...but, then these little children start callin him names. "Baldy, Baldy!" OMG watch out...He musta been PMSing or something cuz he sends a curse to the children and two BEARS come outta the woods and eat all 42 children???? WTF?

the bible talks about the unbeliever and those are the true apostates.
even though there are many here who truly love the lord as i do and have shared and taught an awful lot of helpful information to help me fight the battle against false religion, i thank you and pray for each of you.
